Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug rehab center which works to deal with drug and alcohol addiction issues and psychological problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the individual in treatment takes part in various rehabilitation activities and strategies in the day and then leaves in the night time. This is done several days per week, depending on the severity of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug addicted persons in Welsh who are unable to pay for long-term inpatient treatment, or for those who are not able to be apart from their home and work for extended periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction issues while also dealing with mental health issues which could keep them from staying sober once rehab is complete.
