Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug treatment program which works to handle substance abuse problems and mental health problems which may possibly be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in treatment takes part in a variety of treatment services and techniques in the daytime and then leaves in the evening. This is carried out several days a week, all dependent on the seriousness of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted individuals in Trabuco Canyon who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient treatment, or for treatment clients who are unable to be away from their home for extensive durations of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in standard counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction problems while simultaneously overcoming psychological issues which may deter them from staying abstinent when treatment is done.
