Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug rehab facility that is meant to handle drug addiction issues and psychological issues which might be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the individual in rehab partakes in various rehab activities and methods in the daytime and then returns home in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the seriousness of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted individuals in St. Vincent who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient treatment, or for treatment clients who are not able to be away from their families for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals take part in standard counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction issues while also overcoming mental health issues which may deter them from remaining abstinent once rehab is done.
