Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug rehab center which works to treat drug addiction problems and mental health problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the person in treatment takes part in various treatment activities and strategies during the day and then leaves in the evening. This is carried out anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the significance of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted people in Salt Lake City, Utah who may not be able to pay for long-term inpatient care, or for those who are not able to be away from their home for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in typical treatment services for addiction issues while at the same time addressing psychological problems which may deter them from staying sober after rehabilitation is complete.
