Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment facility which works to handle substance abuse problems and psychological issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the treatment client in treatment takes part in a variety of treatment activities and methods in the daytime and then returns home in the evening time. This is carried out anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem.
