Native Americans and Alaska Natives are known to have significantly very high rates of abuse and alcohol and drug addiction than other races, an a situation which should be aknowledged for these people to endure. While the things which trigger substance abuse may differ from person to person, many of the causes for the high rates of drug abuse among Native American and Alaska Natives are cultural ones.
