Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug rehab program which works to deal with substance abuse problems and mental health disorders which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in rehab partakes in a variety of treatment services and techniques in the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug or alcohol addicted persons in Mckeesport who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient rehab, or who are not able to be apart from their households for extensive durations of time. While in Day Treatment, people participate in traditional counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction problems while at the same time dealing with mental health problems which may deter them from staying sober after rehabilitation is complete.
