Criminal justice clients are a large portion of clients who take part in alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers in Little Canada and across the nation. Judges around the country are finding it more advantageous to rehab people who have found their way into the criminal justice system for drug related crimes, instead of penalizing them to no avail with time in jail and other such rulings. It is proven to be more effective to handle the trouble of addiction directly, than to invoke such penalties. The majority of who do not end up in drug and alcohol rehab will often turn right back up in the criminal justice system, while criminal justice clients in alcohol and drug treatment generally don't fall back into drug use and have a far better chance at staying abstinent and away from the court system for good.
