Criminal justice clients are a large portion of clientele who are currently taking part in drug rehabilitation facilities in Lebanon and in the USA. Court systems in the U.S. often find it more effective to treat individuals who have found their way into the criminal justice system for crimes relating to drugs, instead of penalizing them to no avail with jail time and other penalties. It has proven more helpful to tackle the issue of addiction more straightforwardly, rather than invoke such penalties. The majority of individuals who do not make their way to drug and alcohol rehabilitation will often wind back up in the criminal justice hamster wheel, while criminal justice clients in alcohol and drug rehabilitation often don't fall back into drug use and have a far better chance at remaining abstinent and out of the court system completely.
