Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol treatment facility which is meant to deal with drug and alcohol addiction issues and psychological issues which might be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in rehabilitation takes part in a number of treatment activities and approaches during the day and then returns home in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the severity of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug addicted persons in Higganum who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient care, or for treatment clients who are not able to be away from their households for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional treatment services for addiction issues while also addressing mental health problems which could keep them from remaining sober once rehabilitation is done.
