Helper, Utah - Native American Languages
Native Americans and Alaska Natives have much increased rates of substance abuse and alcohol and drug addiction than other ethnicities, an a circumstance which has to be resolved for these people to survive. Although the causes may differ from individual to individual, most of the causes for the high rates of substance abuse amongst Native American and Alaska Natives are cultural ones. First of all, Native American and Alaska Native youth appear to have some of the highest rates of drug and alcohol abuse in the country. The most apparent hurdles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for drug addiction are cultural challenges and their language. This is why it is crucial that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Helper obtain substance abuse treatment in a drug rehab program that is culturally acceptable, and more importantly in one that takes into the account the need to offer alcohol and drug treatment in their native tongue.
