Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a kind of alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which works to deal with substance abuse disorders and mental health disorders which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the individual in treatment participates in various rehabilitation activities and approaches during the day and then leaves in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, depending on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted persons in Erie who are unable to afford long-term inpatient care, or for those who are not able to be apart from their families for extended periods of time.
