Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of drug and alcohol treatment center which works to handle substance abuse issues and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in rehab takes part in various rehabilitation services and methods in the daytime and then returns home in the night time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, depending on the severity of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for addicted men and women in Elmwood Park who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient rehab, or who are unable to be apart from their home and work for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in typical counseling and therapy for addiction problems while simultaneously dealing with mental health problems which may deter them from remaining sober when treatment is done.
