Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment center which works to treat substance abuse issues and psychological issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in rehabilitation participates in a variety of rehab services and techniques during the day and then leaves in the night time. This is done several days a week, all dependent on the significance of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted individuals in Effort who may not be able to pay for long-term inpatient care, or for those who are not able to be away from their families for extensive durations of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in standard counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction issues while at the same time overcoming psychological issues which may deter them from staying sober when rehabilitation is complete.
