Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility which works to treat drug and alcohol addiction problems and mental health issues which might be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the individual in rehab takes part in a variety of rehab services and methods in the day and then returns home in the evening. This is carried out several days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug addicted persons in Berlin who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient rehab, or for treatment clients who are not able to be away from their home for prolonged durations of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in standard treatment services for drug and alcohol addiction problems while also addressing mental health issues which could keep them from staying abstinent once treatment is done.
