Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of alcohol and drug treatment center which works to deal with substance abuse issues and psychological issues which might be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the treatment client in rehab participates in a number of treatment activities and methods in the day and then leaves in the night time. This is done several days a week, all dependent on the seriousness of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted people in Augusta who are unable to afford long-term inpatient treatment, or for treatment clients who are unable to be apart from their households for extensive lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients participate in standard counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction issues while at the same time dealing with psychological issues which may deter them from remaining sober after rehabilitation is complete.
